Amanda Peet

Amanda Peet is a Jewish (on her mother's side) actress who also appeared on stage, from NY, born 11 days into Jan 1972. She grew up in both-parents family who are now divorced.

Her career started off in with TV ads (most memorably for Skitties) and small production films before she scored a supporting role in The Whole Nine Yards with Bruce Willis and Mathew Perry in 2000. Her full frontal scene also got her to be named one of the most beautiful people in People's Magazine Top 50. Her work continued in TV shows like Seinfield, Law & Order, Jack & Jill and How I Met Your Mother, among others.

Her acting talent got her to repeat her role of Jill in The Whole Ten Yards in 2004 and Something's Gotta Give a year before. She also stared in George Clooney's Syriana in 2004, A Lot Like Love in 2005, The X-Files: I Want to Believe in 2008 and lastly 2012 in 2010, among other roles she had. 2005 and 2006 saw her in two stage plays, This is How it Goes and Barefoot in The Park. She graduated from Columbia University where she majored in history. While at uni and getting acting lessons from Uta Hagen for 4 years, she also appeared in a play Awake and Sing.

On a personal front, she is a wife of David Benioff, whom she married in Sept 2006 while she was pregnant with her first daughter that was born in Jan 2007. She is currently expecting her 2nd daughter due any day in Apr 2010. There was a bit of controversy on her involvement in child vaccination non-profit organization, where she criticized Hollywood parents. She divides her time with her family between her two homes, in her hometown and Hollywood. She continues to star in independent films.
